RYA Start Yachting - weekday

An introductory course to sailing a yacht for complete beginners.

By the end of this 2-day residential course, you will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, rope work and be aware of safety on board. Holders of the Start Yachting certificate can go on to complete the 3-day Competent Crew course in order to obtain the full competent crew certificate. All our cruising courses take place on either our club's 44ft Bavaria S/Y Marko or 43ft Dufour 430 S/Y Nashira

Course Pre-requisites: None (perfect for beginners)

Minimum Duration: 2 days

Timings: 10 am till 6 pm on both days

Maximum students per course: 5

Recommended Minimum Age: 12

Course Content: General orientation of the yacht, rope work, underway, rules of the road, man overboard recovery, clothing and equipment, emergency equipment and precautions, meteorology.

Cost includes: all materials required for the course, light lunch, soft drinks, water, etc
